Bees...

The Hawaiian Princess got her first up close and personal meeting with a bunch of bees at a "mandatory fun" day for Daddy's work. I think they were the sweat bees because they were not very big, but the sting still hurts. Daddy got 2-4 stings, I got a couple, but the Hawaiian Princess was stung no less than 6 times. Poor baby!! The firemen (who were there cuz there was a large BBQ going) roped off the area where we had located the bees. We must have walked very near a beehive or something as they just "attacked" us. The Racing Princess wasn't stung, but it solidified "bees are bad" in her mind and she whimpered the rest of the day if she even thought she saw a bee.

The Hawaiian Princess is doing well. We had to stay at the picnic cuz it was required attendance for Daddy and after several minutes of crying, the Hawaiian Princess was back to putting pieces of the forest floor in the nearest trash can. Now several hours later, her welts are gone--you can still see small red spots where she was stung, but they are no longer swollen and don't appear to be causing her any pain. What a frustrating event!!
