summer's over

So the Disney Princess went back to Florida on Sunday which means summer is essentially over for us. So far, the two little girls seem okay with her departure--perhaps bickering a bit more than normal. The Racing Princess is anxious to finally get to sleep in the top bunk (she has to wait til tonight when I change all the bedding). The Hawaiian Princess has transitioned to her toddler bed very well--we are looking at getting her into the bottom bunk around the end of the month so that her move won't be associated with the baby.

On Saturday, we visited Jamestown Settlement (will post pictures in the next day or so). Last sets of pictures with the Disney Princess until Thanksgiving.

We think the Hawaiian Princess (who we originially thought was taking the terrible two's very seriously) busted an ear drum yesterday--she woke up from her nap with blood all over her left ear. We go see the dr. this afternoon--but the change in attitude has been awesome :)
(more info on that after the drs. visit)

Next Monday, we will start school. We need to start a little early this year as we will be taking several breaks to coincide with the Disney Princess' visits during the school year and the birth of the baby in January. We will be finishing up kindergarten work (we were half way through) and begin 1st grade after the baby is born. We opted not to rush and finish kindergarten this summer since the Racing Princess is only 5 and this way it works with AWANA (she will start Sparkies this year) and the homeschool co-op we are doing at church. This way she remains with age-mates. If we eventually speed up, great. If we have to slow down, no problem.

The Racing Princess will also be doing soccer for the first time this fall. Our church has a league that really focuses on fun and learning the sport through elementary school. So we are excited about this experience.

Well, the girls are done with breakfast and it's time to wake Daddy up--so best get the day into high gear.
