really--not much new. We are still living in the hotel, still looking for houses to buy, girls are still in Omaha being spoiled by the grandparents.
We did get on the housing list for post housing today cuz if we find the "house of our dreams" it won't be as difficult to break our lease with post housing as it would somewhere else. Course the waitlist for post housing is 4-6 weeks, so we are quite thankful that our accommodations here are much more welcoming than they were upon our arrival at our last duty station.
We drove to Richmond this weekend and toured the state capitol building--that was cool. There are so many things to see in this area--tons just in an hour radius of post--so that is nice. When Grandma and Grandpa H bring the girls out next week, we look forward to doing some of the "kid friendly" things to introduce them to Virginia. And of course things that make the girls happy will entertain the grandparents.
Most likely we will go to at least one of the historical towns in the Triangle (Yorktown, Jamestown, and Williamsburg) while the grandparents are here also.
Daddy likes history--and has begun delving into Civil War trivia. We have established a bit of a summer education schedule for when the Disney Princess is with us during this assignment. This summer we are covering colonial America and the Revolutionary War, the second summer we will cover the Civil War, and the third summer we will cover government with several trips to DC. That is our grand plan.
Okay--enough rambling for now.
