Wow, what an "adventure" we have embarked on.
After the new year, we pretty much moved in with my dear friend Denielle and her family while the packers and movers came. It was a constant party with 7 children aged 2 to 11 years :)
Our flight to Germany was long and filled with cat naps. Our airport experience was painful, but what do you expect with a mountain of baggage and additional hill of carry-ons, not to mention car seats. Elevators are so inconviently located!!
Currently we are in the post hotel, but only for a few days as they have taken other reservations and will be booked up next week in which we will have to relocate...probably to a hotel off post.
Evidently with the last minute change in our orders, the powers that be here were not expecting the family--even though concurrent travel was still on the newest set of orders--go figure. Hopefully today we will get an "official" understanding of the housing situation.
Not too sure what to think of this place, the few people that I have ran into have been friendly. But my exposure is seriously limited to the airport, bus, and the numerous gentlemen and their tiny cars that carted all of our stuff to the hotel and even lugged it a flight of stairs into our room for us.
Have some serious prayer requests:
Housing--to be available quickly and perferrably on post
Stateside--the sale of our house to come quickly
Attitude--to look for and be able to see the bright side of things (right now I fear I am experiencing discontent and am having difficulty getting those gloomy shades off)
Peace--to let go and fully rely on God
