This actually occured a few weeks ago. We had sold the Baby Princess' crib before coming to Germany and she had been in the pack n'play ever since. The weekend after we received our household goods, Daddy had put the bed together. Then it took me a couple of weeks to finally make her bed. Once I did, she refused to sleep in the pack n'play. We left the pack n'play up for a couple of days, in case she changed her mind--but she didn't!
A neighbor gave us a baby gate to put in front of her door--which has come in handy a couple of times when she has gotten out of bed and opened the door. For the most part, she stays on her bed until Daddy or I open the door.
Oh and she has also gotten rid of the "ba-ba" aka the bottle. The Baby Princess was pretty attached to her bottles. She only drank her soy milk out of it and generally had one twice a day (morning and before bed). We went a couple of days without her milk in the house and then when I made it to the store to get some, we put it in a big girl cup (which she has been using at the table for meals). It took a bit of coaxing, but the bottles have been cleared out of the house now and it has been a couple of days since she actually requested one.
Now for potty training....or maybe Grandma can do that when she comes in August. I mean, she potty trained the other two--why break her streak?!?
