This sign indicates you are entering the town or city limits of a town. It also means that your speed current speed limit is 50 kph (roughly 30 mph) unless there is a posted speed limit sign.
Speed limit signs look like this…and for me personally it is sometimes difficult to remember that speed limits are in kilometers/hour and not miles/hour :)
This sign indicates you are leaving the town or city limits and the speed limit (although not always posted) is now 100 kph (roughly 60 mph). It is crazy to be zipping down these little two lane highways between towns at 60 mph and then slamming on the brakes as you approach another dinky little town :)
Oh and don’t get me started on passing—wait, that sounds like another post :)
