Unexpected news

On Sunday, July 19th as we were on our way to Rita's Italian Ice for an after church treat, we received the news that Daddy's Mom had passed away.

Yes, she was on her third round of chemo treatments for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, but when we had talked to her on Friday she sounded great!

On Saturday, she was visited by her sister and a niece and even had half of a Runza (it's a Midwestern thing with over 70 locations in Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas and Iowa) for lunch. She even called a friend who had worked as a travel agent to find out how to get her passport so that she could go to Germany this Christmas to visit Uncle D. and family. Everyone that visited with or talked to her on Friday or Saturday said that she looked really good.

It was quite a shock for everyone. Auntie S. was at our house when we got the news and caravaned out to Nebraska with us on Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday, Uncle D. and family flew in from Germany.

Planning began on Wednesday morning. The viewing was Friday, July 24th. The funeral was Saturday, July 25th. And the burial was Monday, July 27th.
